DB 7020 - PRODUCT INFORMATION
DB 7020 is a two-part polychloroprene based adhesive formulated to exhibit good adhesion to Neoprene, Hypalon, synthetic rubber foams, urethane foam, leather, and hard-to-adhere synthetic fabrics. This product demonstrates excellent peel adhesion and good heat resistance. DB 7020 is designed primarily for the use in bonding Hypalon/Neoprene coated fabrics as found in the inflatable industry.
MIXING INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Dilute ACC7020 using MEK by adding 3 parts by weight of ACC7020 to 97 parts by weight of MEK. DO NOT USE ACC7020 WITHOUT FIRST DILUTING AS ABOVE! Mix solution well to dissolve.
2. Mix 6.1 parts of above solution into 100 parts of DB7020 by weight, or 8.4 fl. oz./gal DB7020 by volume. This equates to 66 cc’s of catalyst solution to one litre of adhesive. This system has a 4 hour pot life.
SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION: Allow 30 minutes for the material to dry and apply a second coat of adhesive. The materials must not be bonded until this second coat is dry to wiped over both surfaces and the bonds are made when the adhesive is tacky to the touch. Once mated, the seam should be rolled out with a the touch. In addition to be adhered using this method, solvent reactivation may also be used. Here, a cloth or brush dampened with MEK is two- pound metal roller. wiped over both surfaces and the bonds are made when the adhesive is tacky to the touch. Once mated, the seam should be rolled out with a two-pound metal roller. Final adhesion levels are highly dependent on the coated fabric being used; however, bond levels of greater than 20 #’s /inch peel should be achieved.

The results listed are based on tests run under controlled lab conditions. Since the ultimate use is beyond our control, these results are not guaranteed. Pre-testing should be conducted to confirm the application procedure using the actual substrates under true field conditions to ensure results are acceptable for the end use.
